Active IQ, a leading awarding organisation in the UK physical activity sector, is delighted to announce that it has been named as a finalist for two categories at this year’s Federation of Awarding Bodies Awards, in both the Apprentice of the Year and the Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year categories.
The FAB Awards recognise the contributions made by awarding organisations and their employees to education and skills in the UK over the past year, celebrating a world-class sector that has collectively issued more than 10 million certifications in the last year.
For Apprentice of the Year, Duriye Gungor was put forward after completing her Level 3 Early Years apprenticeship with Let Me Play Education, balancing her studies alongside owning and running a business and eventually achieving 100% of the Distinction criteria at the end-point assessment.
For the Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year, Active IQ put forward its ‘Healthy People, Healthy Planet’ initiative – Active IQ’s sustainability strategy – setting out an ambitious plan to become a more sustainable business, with the goal of becoming a carbon-neutral organisation by 2024. Active IQ produced an estimated 207.46 tonnes of CO2e in 2019, which was reduced to 142.66 tonnes in 2022, as a result of the work already done.
Speaking about the awards, Managing Director at Active IQ, Jenny Patrickson said: “It’s always great to have your work recognised by the industry, and we’re delighted that we have been named among the finalists in two categories. This marks another exciting year for Active IQ as we look to become a more sustainable business, whilst continuing to promote excellence in education within the physical activity sector.”
Active IQ would also like to congratulate our parent company, NCFE, on also being nominated as double finalists in both the EPAO of the Year and the Apprentice of the Year categories.
