About this Qualification
- An LSIS review of qualifications for teachers and trainers in the further education and skills sector was undertaken in 2012 and the proposal for an award at Level 3 was supported as part of a suite of generic teaching and training qualifications including certificate and diploma qualifications
- Achieving the qualification will provide sufficient evidence that an individual has acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to teach beyond an initial year in the FE sector
- This qualification provides learners with the knowledge to be able to understand the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
- It provides learners with the knowledge to be able to deliver education and training to individuals and/or groups in an environment/subject, in which they are technically competent
- It also provides learners with the knowledge to be able to understand and support the process of assessment
Entry Requirements and Progression
Learners must be 19 + and do not need to be in a teaching role however learners do need to be competent in the area in which they wish to teach. Learners who have achieved the Level 3 Award in education and Training can then progress on to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
Training Programme
The Active IQ Level 3 Award in Education and Training is delivered via an online programme that includes an eClinic, eLearning, guidance and assessment.
Assessment submission of:
- Worksheet
- Portfolio of evidence consisting of Lesson Plan, Recorded observation, Evaluation, Micro teaching log
Costs
The course fee is as follows:
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training: £300 + VAT
Learning Programme Structure
- An online programme which takes 4 months to achieve
- Initial support and guidance provided by Active IQ’s Guidance Assessor on a one-to-one basis following enrolment (via email, skype and/or phone)
- Mid-programme support and guidance provided by the allocated Guidance Assessor approximately half way through the online course (via email, skype and/or phone
