Job Title: EPA Standards Assessor and Verifier
Reporting to: Lead IV
Staff Supervised: None
Location: Remote – to cover either South of England or North of England
Salary: £30,000

Job Purpose:

The EPA Standards Assessor and Verifier is a member of the Active IQ EPA team and contributes to supporting the team in meeting demands for the Apprenticeship Standards. Their role is pivotal in ensuring Active IQ meet EPA objectives, ensuring effective implementation of assessment plans and undertaking necessary Internal quality control through monitoring activity on a regular basis.

They are also responsible for working closely with the Lead IV in undertaking assessment activity in their area of expertise as well as shadowing and supporting new and existing freelance assessors.

In addition, the EPA Standards Assessor and Verifier will support the Product development team in content production and review of end point assessment and other qualifications where required.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Carry out end point assessments for their area of expertise
  • Monitor and support new and existing EPA assessors
  • Support the Lead IV in conducting internal quality control
  • Support Product Development team
  • Assist Lead IV in developing and delivering standardisation and other CPD training to EPA assessors
  • Developing and producing reports on assessor activity
  • Any other related duties as required

EPA Standards Assessor and Verifier

  • Conduct assessment activity for area of responsibility in a timely manner in accordance with assessment plans
  • Conduct internal quality assurance activity
  • Support and mentor new and existing assessors to achieve high quality delivery aligned to EPA requirements
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to new and existing EPA assessors on practice
  • Work towards agreed targets and objectives
  • Ensure assessment processes are being correctly applied, ensuring fairness of assessment decisions is maintained
  • Assist the Lead IV in quality assuring and sampling training and assessment decisions and processing certification where required
  • Provide accurate and timely reports of assessment and monitoring activity, customer and learner feedback
  • Compliance with and keeping up to date with current EPA practice and key stakeholders e.g., ESFA, iFATE, Ofqual, Qualification Wales, CCEA, CIMSPA
  • Maintain own health and safety and that of assessors and learners in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety policies
  • Comply with all Active IQ Equality and Diversity policies
  • Assist the Lead IV in training and standardisation exercises with assessors
  • Attend all assessor and other training and meetings as required by Lead EPA IV
  • Engage in training and CPD based upon business and role
  • Be a goodwill ambassador for Active IQ following company Code of Conduct for Assessors ensuring at all times the professionalism of the company is upheld
  • Work closely with the Lead IV in providing statistical or other evidence to support service surveys in order to challenge and develop systems and processes to improve performance

Product Development

  • Creation and review of allocated teaching, assessment and learning resources for specific qualifications, end point assessments, EPA toolkits and resources or subject areas in line with Active IQ’s standard operating procedures
  • Creation and review of regulatory compliant units, qualifications, assessment strategies and end point assessments as required in line with Active IQ’s standard operating procedures
  • Support in developing online and other training resources as required
